The Enterprise Business Systems (EBS) provide USF with “business” functions through applications systems that include Student Administration and Financial Aid (OASIS), Human Resources (GEMS), Financial Systems (FAST), the Data Warehouse, and a number of sub-systems.  IT provides multiple support functions for these systems including hosting of the hardware in the data center, administration of the operating systems on which the applications reside, database administration, security administration, application lifecycle management, and help desk support.  These mission-critical systems are supported on a “24 by 7” basis in keeping with the service needs of the University community.

IT PMO –

The Division of Information Technologies has adopted a project management methodology for our enterprise systems change control process.  The IT PMO office provides the framework and tools to track and deliver systems change requests using best practices developed by PMI (Project Management Institute) and CMM (Capability Maturity Model).

IT Project Managers manage/coordinate projects and tasks associated with computer systems, including all aspects of the system life cycle such as analysis, problem solving, installation/maintenance and administration, information gathering and task organization.  Responsibilities include acquiring relevant information and mentoring IT staff and customers by sharing information/knowledge and conducting formal training sessions to other team members as assigned in the best practices for project management.
